We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

As a progressive, leading civil engineering firm built on the strong foundations of our unique history, we engage, enable and empower our people to be better. With you, we are altogether stronger, in building the future we want.

At Seymour Whyte, we’re building more than infrastructure—we’re shaping communities. As a Senior Project Engineer with an electrical focus, you’ll play a critical role in delivering complex works that power progress across Australia. You’ll lead technical solutions, drive safety and quality, and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring every milestone is met with precision and innovation.

About the role:

  • Coordinate on-site electrical engineering functions
  • Lead safety culture and compliance across all works
  • Manage subcontractor performance and procurement
  • Develop short and medium-term programs to meet targets
  • Drive productivity and continuous improvement on site

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in electrical infrastructure delivery
  • Strong knowledge of WHS, quality, and environmental standards
  • Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and contractual claims
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.

We have a range of additional benefits available for our employees:

  • Financial Wellbeing: competitive remuneration, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
  • Generous Leave benefits: purchased leave program, paid parental leave, and birthday leave – have your birthday off on us!
  • Career Development: measure your progress with our Engineering Competency Matrix and Learning & Development programs.
  • Enjoy shopping, fitness and wellbeing discounts through our Flare and WHEREFIT partnerships including discounted gym memberships and classes.
  • Health & Wellbeing: discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).

Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued. We're unified in our direction toward having a workplace that is balanced and fair for all.
