We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

We’re delivering vital upgrades to Grange Road in Adelaide’s west, a key transport corridor connecting the city to the beach. As part of the South Australian Government’s road network improvement program, this project will reduce congestion, improve safety, and enhance pedestrian and cycling links for the local community.

We are seeking a driven Senior Supervisor to lead and manage multiple work fronts on the Grange Road project in Adelaide. You’ll be supervising field construction and ensuring our works are delivered to the highest standard, within budget, and on schedule.

Working with Seymour Whyte means you’ll be joining a company committed to safety, innovation and delivering for the community. This is your chance to make a real impact on a major piece of infrastructure while being part of a team that values growth and quality work.

As a progressive, leading civil engineering firm built on the strong foundations of our unique history, we engage, enable and empower our people to be better. With you, we are altogether stronger, in building the future we want.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead daily site activities across multiple crews, self-performed works and subcontractors.
  • Plan and forecast labour, plant and equipment needs.
  • Ensure all works meet WHS, environmental, quality and client standards.
  • Work with Engineers to deliver construction programs and short-term work plans.
  • Run engaging pre-starts, toolbox talks and planning meetings, keeping teams aligned.
  • Manage workforce, plant and subcontractors across multiple fronts.
  • Track productivity, progress and report to the Project Manager/Superintendent.
  • Oversee subcontract packages, ensuring scope and quality compliance.
  • Keep accurate digital records of daily diaries, timesheets, costs and variations.
  • Resolve on-site issues and build a safe, high-performing team culture.
  • Drive site safety, prepare SWMS/THRCs, run iLeads and HSEQ checks, and coach teams on WHS.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience delivering civil infrastructure construction projects.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale civil construction activities across a variety of trades/disciplines or experience as a technical specialist/expert in a core trade/discipline.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing Work Health & Safety and Environmental legislative and procedural requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver meaningful and engaging pre-starts and toolbox talks.
  • Working knowledge of Quality, IR, HR and other relevant legislation, standards and company policies/procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and handheld technology (tablets and mobiles) in the work environment.
  • Ability to understand client specifications and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) for all trades.
  • Capability to manage assigned budgets and assist with engineering forecasts.
  • Experience mentoring and training leading hands and construction workers.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications for all trades, layout plans and schematic drawings.
  • Cert III, Cert IV, trade qualifications or substantial advancement towards achievement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.

We have a range of additional benefits available for our employees:

  • Health & Wellbeing – discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, wellness discounts, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
  • Time for life / Work life balance – birthday leave, purchased leave program, paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
  • Financial wellbeing – competitive remuneration, bonus programs, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
  • Career development – training, mentoring programs, and leadership development program.

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
