We are seeking a Community Engagement & Communications Advisor in with experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations or project communications within major infrastructure or civil construction projects to work on the M5 Westbound Upgrade Project.

As part of the M5 Westbound Upgrade team, you'll be at the forefront of community and stakeholder engagement, delivering communication campaigns, supporting project milestones, managing enquiries and ensuring the communities around the project remain informed, engaged and connected throughout the journey.

M5 Westbound Upgrade Project:

Seymour Whyte has been awarded the design and construct contract by Transport for NSW to deliver the M5 Westbound Upgrade in Moorebank, Sydney. Valued between $250M–$300M and running from 2025 to 2028, this major transport infrastructure project will enhance one of south-west Sydney’s key arterial routes, supporting economic and residential growth while improving connectivity across the region.

The project will remove a critical traffic weave between Moorebank Avenue and the Hume Highway, reducing congestion and improving network reliability. Key works include a new three-lane bridge over the Georges River and adjacent rail lines, enhanced freight access to the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal, and new pedestrian and cyclist links, improving access to the Liverpool CBD and delivering safer, more efficient travel for all road users.

About the Role:

  • Support the delivery of community engagement and communications activities across the M5 Westbound Upgrade Project
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders, project partners and government representatives
  • Coordinate a variety of engagement initiatives, including community meetings, information sessions, project briefings and communication campaigns
  • Prepare engaging project communications such as newsletters, works notifications, presentations, digital content and stakeholder updates
  • Manage community enquiries and feedback, ensuring concerns are addressed professionally and opportunities for positive engagement are maximised
  • Work closely with project and client teams to support key project milestones, traffic changes and major construction activities through proactive communication
  • Help strengthen Seymour Whyte's reputation by delivering meaningful engagement outcomes and keeping communities informed throughout the life of the project

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant experience in a similar role
  • Three years communications experience working at project site level in civil construction industry
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Driver’s licence
