We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Community Engagement Advisor to join the Creek Connect team, supporting the delivery of Sydney Water’s Upper South Creek Networks Program—a major infrastructure initiative underpinning the growth of Western Sydney.
This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and delivering strategic engagement initiatives that support the successful planning and delivery of a large‑scale program. Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will provide trusted advice, manage complex relationships, and drive engagement activities that are transparent, inclusive, and outcomes‑focused— helping to build confidence and support across the community.

Be part of a large-scale, long-term joint venture between Seymour Whyte and Jacobs, awarded by Sydney Water as an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) project. As the region expands, so does the need for sustainable and resilient water solutions. The Upper South Creek Network will feature new wastewater pumping stations and gravity carriers, with the next stage of work beginning before the year's end. The project also emphasises safety, digital engineering, and compliance with the latest standards, ensuring it meets future needs effectively.

About the Role:
- Develop and deliver community and stakeholder engagement plans and high‑quality communication materials
- Engage with stakeholders and community members through multiple channels and maintain accurate records
- Build strong on‑site relationships and provide guidance on engagement issues and complaints
- Identify community and stakeholder risks and help minimise impacts
- Promote organisational values and embed a strong customer‑focused culture
- Contribute to reporting, continuous improvement and positive organisational reputatio
About you:
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in community and stakeholder engagement, with knowledge of or training in IAP2 principles
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental management, urban planning, engineering or related social sciences
- Demonstrated experience working on infrastructure projects, ideally during construction or delivery phases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational abilities with strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking capability
- Proactive, positive mindset with a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement
Many of our projects are not accessible via public transport and require travel between and within active construction sites. As a result, a current Driver’s Licence and the ability to drive on site are essential.
