We’re looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join the Upper South Creek Network Project – CreekConnect, one of Western Sydney’s largest water infrastructure programs. This key role will support onsite environmental management across the project, ensuring best practice systems are in place and maintained, while providing mentoring, guidance, and compliance oversight to the delivery team.
You’ll report to the Project Environment Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering environmental performance outcomes that meet both regulatory and community expectations. What you’ll be doing:
- Support the development and implementation of the CEMP, sub-plans, and Environmental Work Method Statements
- Drive proactive stakeholder and community engagement initiatives and manage environmental enquiries and complaints
- Monitor environmental controls and advise on improvements, ensuring compliance with permits, legislation, and client obligations
- Conduct site audits and support data collection and sustainability reporting (waste, water, energy, etc.)
- Support innovation in environmental practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage and guide junior environmental team members to build capability and ensure knowledge sharing
What you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental roles within the construction industry
- Experience with planning, implementing, and monitoring CEMPs and sub-plans
- Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation, approval conditions, and erosion/sedimentation control
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes across multiple work fronts and support a team-based culture
- Familiarity with alliance or EPCM delivery models is highly regarded
- A current driver’s licence and ability to work on active project sites
