We are seeking an experienced Traffic Officer to lead traffic management on a major infrastructure project. You will provide structure and direction across field operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and community standards are consistently met.

In this role, you’ll oversee Traffic Management Plans, manage authority approvals, and lead audits, while directing teams and subcontractors to deliver safe and efficient traffic operations. Acting as the key link between construction teams, stakeholders, and the community, you’ll resolve issues swiftly and keep traffic flowing to support project milestones.

With a focus on leadership, operational excellence, and risk management, you’ll ensure traffic management is delivered to the highest standard across all phases of the project.

About the role:

  • Drive project design delivery: Partner with the Traffic Manager to ensure traffic design outcomes align with project objectives across quality, completion, and financial performance.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination: Facilitate effective collaboration between design, construction, and planning teams to enable seamless integration of design activities.
  • Ensure regulatory and design compliance: Oversee adherence to design standards, compliance frameworks, and reporting requirements, ensuring all traffic designs meet statutory and project obligations.
  • Manage design approval process: Coordinate resolution of design issues, providing clear direction to stakeholders to support timely approvals and project advancement.
  • Contribute to budget and schedule governance: Work with the Design Manager to develop, monitor, and report on design budgets and schedules, proactively addressing risks and variances.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience

  • Proficient in Rapid Plan or equivalent software for drafting TGS’s.
  • Working knowledge of the traffic management process and requirements for large infrastructure projects. 
  • Be highly skilled in the production of both long-term traffic management and short-term lane closure drawings using CA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
