Lead with purpose and influence real outcomes. As our Commercial Manager, you’ll work closely with senior leadership and project teams to drive commercial excellence across contractual and financial practices. You’ll play a key role in shaping project success, from managing complex contract negotiations and disputes to mentoring teams and ensuring compliance with head contracts and subcontractor terms. To hit the ground running, you'll need deep industry knowledge and prior experience working for a major contractor in the infrastructure or construction sector.
A background in quantity surveying, engineering, or law is essential. About the role:
- Lead and support project teams in applying effective commercial, contractual and financial practices aligned with major contract requirements and company policies.
- Manage complex contract negotiations, scope changes, claims and disputes across head contracts and high-risk subcontracts, ensuring compliance with the Security of Payments Act.
- Provide expert commercial guidance to project managers and contract administrators, including subcontract drafting, cost forecasting, and administration procedures.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams to ensure positive, commercially sound project outcomes.
- Drive commercial risk management and financial performance by maximising profit margins, mitigating contract risk, and ensuring governance in reporting and decision-making.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines.
- 7 years’ experience in commercial and contract administration gained on construction, engineering or associated projects .
- 2-5 years’ experience in commercial management role.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
