We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and embed a strong safety culture on the Eastern Freeway – Hoddle to Burke Alliance project. You will provide strategic and visible leadership, drive compliance with all HS&W legislation and standards, manage high-risk activities, and oversee incident management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role where you’ll influence safety behaviours, mentor teams, work closely with subcontractors and stakeholders, and ensure everyone goes home safe. ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Lead and embed a strong safety culture across the project, ensuring compliance with all HS&W legislation and standards.
- Oversee and manage high-risk activities, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, monitoring, trend analysis, and lessons learned.
- Provide strategic advice and visible leadership to project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement training, inductions, and wellbeing initiatives to ensure all personnel go home safe.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent; Safety Lead Auditor qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Safety, Environmental, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Workplace Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator Certification; Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.
- Recognised lead auditor training or demonstrated experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
