Seymour Whyte, in alliance with SMEC and Toowoomba Regional Council, has been awarded the Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project (CDSIP) – a major infrastructure initiative set to significantly enhance flood resilience and water security for the Toowoomba region.

Representing the client’s largest project to date, this $266 million project will raise the dam crest height and widen the spillway, bringing the structure in line with current engineering design standards.

Once complete, the upgraded dam will provide increased flood capacity, improved safety during major flood events, and ensure the long‑term reliability of Cressbrook Dam as a critical water supply asset for the region.

Mobilisation is now commencing, and we’re looking for a Safety Administrator to support this landmark project. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery of HSEQ administration, including data entry, document control, reporting and the management of safety‑related information. Working closely with the project team on site, you’ll support a strong safety culture. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised and genuinely passionate about contributing to a positive and safe working environment.

Delivered within one of Queensland’s most spectacular natural environments, the role provides exceptional hands‑on project exposure and a regional lifestyle, with easy access to Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley and the Darling Downs.

About the role:

  • Provide administrative support to the Project Safety Manager in maintaining HSEQ systems, audits, procedures and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate site inductions, training and competencies, including managing records, registers and delivering inductions when required.
  • Maintain accurate HSEQ systems and registers, including PSEM, SharePoint, audit records, training data, plant and equipment registers, ChemWatch SDS and calibration records.
  • Assist with monthly reporting, KPIs and audits, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and timely submission.
  • Support a strong safety culture by assisting site teams, attending site inspections and promoting safe work practices.
  • Provide general HSEQ administration and coordination, including organising meetings, preparing minutes, updating noticeboards, supporting training events and managing documentation.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within the civil construction or related industry.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic commitment to safety, supported by a positive, can‑do mindset and collaborative, team‑first approach.
  • Highly organised with strong data entry skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across site teams and stakeholders.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

We have a range of additional benefits available for our employees:

  • Health & Wellbeing: discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
