We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.
The Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Project is a major upgrade to one of South East Queensland’s busiest regional rail corridors. Designed to boost capacity, reliability and connections for rapidly growing Sunshine Coast communities, Stage 1 will deliver new rail infrastructure, safer crossings, upgraded park and ride facilities and a more efficient network for both passengers and freight.
Mobilising in 2026 and tracking towards completion in 2027, the John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture is proud to deliver this important rail infrastructure upgrade for the Queensland Government. Working closely with our design partners SMEC Australia and WSP Australia, the JV is helping to future proof public transport across the region and support long term growth along the North Coast Line
About the role:
- Lead day to day supervision of your allocated work area, ensuring safety, quality and productivity.
- Prepare and implement SWMS, task hazard reviews and support the team in WHS compliance.
- Plan upcoming works, including labour, plant and resources, with input from engineers.
- Manage subcontractors, run pre‑starts and toolbox talks, and maintain clear site communication.
- Complete daily diaries, track progress against targets and support project reporting.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Strong experience supervising civil infrastructure works, ideally in rail, roads or structures.
- Solid understanding of WHS, environmental and quality requirements on major projects.
- Confident communicator with the ability to lead teams and run effective site meetings.
- Ability to interpret drawings, ITPs, schedules and short‑term programs.
- Relevant trade qualification or Cert III/IV, with strong competence in tablets and site systems.
We offer a range of benefits and incentives:
- Competitive salary packages with performance-based incentives.
- Career development opportunities and access to professional training.
- Employee wellness programs, including health and fitness initiatives.
- Supportive team culture and a positive working environment where collaboration is key.
- Access to corporate discounts for various services and products.
- Opportunities to work on high-profile projects with a long-term future in the industry.
Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued. We're unified in our direction toward having a workplace that is balanced and fair for all.
