Seymour Whyte is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of the Mamre Road Project. In this role, you will provide essential on‑site engineering support to ensure construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.

Working closely with site supervision and project management, the Site Engineer will assist with planning, monitoring progress, managing documentation, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining accurate production and cost information. This position plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of daily site operations and contributing to the overall performance of the project team.

Mamre Road Upgrade:

Seymour Whyte has been awarded the Mamre Road Upgrade Stage 1 construction contract by Transport for NSW to upgrade a 3.8 km section of Mamre Road between the M4 Motorway at St Clair and Erskine Park Road in Erskine Park, Western Sydney. The project will transform the current two‑lane unseparated road into a four‑lane divided road with a large central median to allow for future expansion, reducing congestion, improving safety and travel times, and supporting future growth in the region as part of the Western Sydney Priority Growth Area initiative.

Works include upgrades to three major intersections, construction of two large structural culverts and extensive drainage systems, a new noise wall and major utility relocations. The project also includes sustainability initiatives such as reusing excess materials and promoting active transport through a new shared path. Construction started in 2024 and is scheduled for completion in 2028.

  • Monitor construction progress and manage quality through method statements, ITPs and compliance with project standards
  • Establish, measure and report daily production outputs for assigned work areas
  • Assist with cost control, estimating, procurement and verification of subcontractor claims and variations
  • Develop, update and report on short‑term programs and planning requirements
  • Manage and support field teams to ensure planned works are executed safely and as specified
  • Ensure compliance with Seymour Whyte policies, procedures, legislation and engineering governance requirements

About you:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Previous experience in civil construction engineering, ideally with on‑site exposure
  • Strong understanding of construction quality processes including ITPs, method statements and industry standards
  • Ability to plan, monitor and report on short‑term programs and daily production outputs
  • Competency in cost tracking, subcontractor coordination and commercial awareness on site
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work closely with supervisors and subcontractors
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence

Company Benefits:

  • Health & Wellbeing – discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, wellness discounts, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
  • Time for life / Work life balance – birthday leave, purchased leave program, paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
  • Financial wellbeing – competitive remuneration, annual performance bonuses, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
  • Career development – training, mentoring programs, and leadership development program.

Many of our projects are not accessible via public transport and require travel between and within active construction sites. As a result, a current Driver’s Licence and the ability to drive on site are essential.
