Seymour Whyte, together with Vinci Grande Projects and Beca, has been chosen by ICON Water to deliver the Design and Construct upgrade of the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre - the ACT’s main wastewater treatment facility and the largest of its kind in inland Australia. This four-year project will modernise the plant’s waste handling systems, support future growth, and prepare for potential changes to air emission standards. Located near central Canberra, the upgrade will strengthen and future-proof critical infrastructure for the region.
As a Site Engineer, you’ll be right in the middle of the action. You’ll support the day to day delivery of construction works, helping the team plan activities, track progress and make sure everything is built safely and to the right standard. It’s a role where you’ll get your boots dirty, work closely with experienced engineers and supervisors, and see the direct impact of your work on a project that really matters to the ACT community.

About the role:
- Manage on site engineering tasks including quality, ITPs and daily progress tracking
- Support planning and programming of work elements with the Project Manager
- Assist with cost control, estimating and productivity reporting
- Coordinate with work teams and verify subcontractor claims and variations
- Undertake procurement and ensure compliance with Seymour Whyte governance processes
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Civil engineering degree or equivalent experience in a construction environment
- Ability to prepare and update production programs and bar charts
- Working knowledge of safety legislation, Australian standards and industry codes
- Strong understanding of scope, contractual procedures and stakeholder responsibilities
- Intermediate Microsoft suite skills and the ability to interpret construction documentation
