The primary objective of this position is to oversee, manage and provide support in terms of ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety management for Seymour Whyte, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, accreditation, Clients, VINCI, Eurovia and requirements.

This role entails the management of a national safety team that includes the WHS Systems and Compliance Manager, as well as national oversight of regional and project-based health and safety personnel.

About the role:

  • Provide high level strategic advice, counsel and support to the GM and senior operational management.
  • Ensure legislative and ISO requirements regarding all aspects of the business, inclusive of health, safety and associated risk management are met at a corporate level.
  • Identify, design and implement best practice in terms of health and safety across corporate and operational levels within all functions of SWC.
  • Understand, comply and remain current with all Seymour Whyte policies, procedures and compliance training as relevant to your role.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of, legislation, industry standards and technological innovations as relevant to your role.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 20 year’s industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years senior management experience within a mid to first tier organisation in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, environmental and industry standards relevant to complex infrastructure safety and delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in maintain company accredited systems
