We are a successful civil contracting business that has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the world’s largest construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

We are looking for a Contracts Manager to join Seymour Whyte’s Operations QLD team and support projects across the Northern Region.

Reporting to an experienced Commercial Manager, this role offers an excellent career development opportunity for a commercially focused professional looking to further develop their expertise in contract and commercial management while supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across Queensland.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Contract management
  • Variation entitlement assessment
  • Variation pricing and quantification
  • Extension of Time (EOT) management
  • Commercial and contractual administration

Ideally, you will be degree-qualified in Law, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, or a related discipline and possess 5-10 years' post-graduate experience within the construction industry or a related sector. You will be looking to further strengthen your commercial and contractual expertise while gaining exposure to increasingly complex projects and strategic commercial challenges.

Based in our Eight-Mile Plains Office, with periodic days working from site/s, the role will support our project and commercial teams in areas including:

  • Head contract change management, assessment and negotiation of time and cost impacts, contractual entitlements, risk allocation, and recovery opportunities to optimise commercial outcomes
  • Subcontract change management, including time and cost considerations
  • Preparation and review of subcontract documentation to incorporate agreed contractual departures
  • Providing commercial and contractual support across project teams

While the role is currently focused on contractual and commercial management support, exposure to project financial management and reporting may become available as a future development opportunity.

We have a range of benefits available for our employee:

  • Salary continuance insurance support
  • Generous bonus programs that reward strong performance and business outcomes
  • Employee share program, giving you the opportunity to invest in our long-term success
  • Workplace banking benefits and financial wellbeing support
  • Purchased leave options for added flexibility when you need it
  • Travel benefits through preferred suppliers, including accommodation and car hire savings
  • Lifestyle, fitness and wellness offers to support your wellbeing
  • Leadership development programs to help you grow at every stage of your career
  • Employee recognition and awards programs that celebrate individual and team achievements
