The project is being undertaken through a joint venture between Seymour Whyte and VINCI Construction Grands Projets, alongside design partner Beca HunterH2O, bringing together expertise in large-scale water and civil infrastructure delivery.

The project involves upgrading and expanding the existing wastewater treatment facility to improve treatment efficiency, increase plant capacity, and support Canberra’s growing population. Key works include the construction of a new membrane bioreactor capable of treating up to 97 megalitres of wastewater per day, along with upgrades to critical treatment systems across the plant. Sustainability is also a key focus, with initiatives including renewable energy use, recycled water during construction, and the reuse of on-site materials where possible.
