We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee contracts and subcontracts for civil construction projects based on the Gold Coast. This role will ensure compliance, cost control, and timely project delivery, it is integral in providing commercial support to project teams while maintaining statutory and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Head Contract and subcontract conditions.
- Support in preparing progress claims, variation claims, and extension of time claims.
- Monitor and evaluate tender processes and high-risk activities.
- Review subcontract agreements including standard and special conditions relevant to the specific trades.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers on project management requirements.
- Process subcontractor payments, including valuations, variations, and bank charges.
- Maintain accurate financial systems, ensuring accurate project costs and accruals.
- Oversee the training and development of contract administration staff.
- Communicate effectively with the project team to manage project expectations and challenges.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications in financial/commercial administration.
- Extensive experience in commercial/contract management within a principal contractor environment.
- Proficient in MS Office and financial management systems.
- Strong understanding of contract terms, legislation (e.g., BIFSOPA), and procurement processes.
- Proven negotiation skills, leadership experience, and the ability to manage teams effectively.
