About the project:

Seymour Whyte is delivering Coomera Connector Stage 1, a key infrastructure project improving transport links between Logan City and the Gold Coast. By building additional crossings over the Coomera and Nerang Rivers, this stage will ease congestion on the M1 and provide residents in growing areas such as Helensvale and Coomera with an alternative route.

The scope of works includes bulk earthworks, hard rock excavation, ground improvements and the construction of three new bridges.

You will leverage your strong stakeholder engagement abilities, proactive client engagement and proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects.  In this role, you will lead initiatives to achieve positive environmental outcomes, support the implementation of our sustainability strategy and mentor emerging talent. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a project with a strong focus on environmental performance.

About the role:

  • Implement and audit environmental plans and procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections, report issues and advise on corrective actions.
  • Manage environmental and sustainability documentation systems.
  • Monitor and report on noise, water, air quality, waste, energy and flora/fauna.
  • Liaise with construction teams to maintain strong environmental performance.
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks and site inductions on sustainability practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support high-risk environmental activities.
  • Collect and report sustainability data to meet project goals.
  • Assist with audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and share lessons learned across projects.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance, HSEQ systems and duty of care obligations.
  • Working knowledge of environmental legislation, Australian Standards and Industry Codes of Practice.
  • IS Accredited Professional (ISAP) highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
