We are seeking an experienced Project Communications Manager to join Seymour Whyte on a part-time basis in this exciting opportunity. Seymour Whyte, in an alliance with SMEC and Toowoomba Regional Council, has been awarded the Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project to increase flood capacity and resilience for the region. Representing our client’s largest project to date, the project involves raising the dam crest height, widening the spillway whilst also aligning the structure with current engineering design standards to ensure the dam’s long-term viability.

About the role

  • Develop and implement project communication and stakeholder engagement plans
  • Craft compelling content and produce captivating materials for work notifications, project updates, correspondence, media releases, web/social media content, presentations, and traffic alerts.
  • Ensure prompt and effective management and resolution of community and stakeholder inquiries and complaints within designated timeframes.
  • Undertake regular reporting and maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of, legislation, industry standards and technological innovations

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience Degree qualification in communications, public relations, marketing or significant experience in a similar role

  • At least five years’ experience working at project site level preferably on major civil construction
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • General Construction Induction (White) card
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current C-Class Driver’s License
